August 05 Massive Clashes erupted during a CASO launched in Khuri Batpora area of Damhal hanjipora Belt town in South Kashmir's Kulgam District. August 04 The desilting/ clearance of structures (SR & Clarifloculator) of Water Supply service Islamabad (Anantnag) (old) which was earlier scheduled to be carried out on 4th & 5th shall now take place on 7th and 8th of August. Officials informed The Kashmiriyat that the process will cause non-availability of drinking water supply for 3 days in areas namely Shirpora, Kadipora - Sarnal, Iqbalabad, Anchidoora, SK Colony, Mattan, Krangsoo(partly), Ashajipora, Danter, Donipawa, Khandipari, TB Shah, Batengoo and rest of the town areas will receive low service level. August 02 Within a day of our reporting on the issue of unhygienic toilets and impure water facilities inside the four- story luxurious building of the Mini Secretariat in Kulgam, the Assistant District Development Commissioner (ADDC) has ordered  work inside the toilets at the DC office complex in Kulgam. August 01 A Spontaneous Shutdown started in Khudwani and Quimoh areas of Kulgam district in South Kashmir on Wednesday after Government Forces allegedly arrested 7 youths in the locality. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that at least Seven college going youths were arrested near SKUAST Branch in Khudwani when they were on the way to home from college. "Forces deployed near Khudwani picked them up without any provocation," an eyewitness said. August 31 Unknown Gunmen barged into a branch of State bank of India in Quimoh area in South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Wednesday afternoon and looted cash from there. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown gunmen decamped with cash from the SBI branch in Quimoh and fired aerial shots before running away from the spot. As per initial reports the Gunmen have looted at least 5 lakh INR from the Quimoh branch of SBI. July 30 The posters of Hizbul Mujahideen have surfaced in many areas of Kulgam District in South Kashmir including Poywa, Bugam, Awgam, Kerharwat warning alcohol sellers, informers and Political workers. In the poster, the Hizbul Mujahideen has said that "It has come to our notice that hotels have been selling alcohol in Kulgam, Aharbal and Islamabad (Anantnag) and  Aharbal. July 28 Gunshots were heard during a Cordon and Search Operation launched in Khee Jogipora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and search operation was launched by Government Forces in the village following specific input about Militant presence in the area. July 28 Despite repeated verbal attempts of the Director General of Jammu Kashmir Police, SP vaid, Militancy is showing no signs of declination. In fact the Army General of India has been constantly asking the local Kashmiri youth to give up arms and asking people to keep their wards away from militancy.
