Two Teenagers Electrocuted in Kulgam, One Dead

Danishwar Hameed Two teenagers were electrocuted in the Shurat area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that teenagers identified as Shavaiz Ahmed Dar, a 13-year-old boy, and Zakir Ahmed Khandey, a 12-year-old boy, both residents of Shurat Kulgam received an electric shock on Wednesday afternoon. Both were immediately evacuated to a nearby health facility DHS Kulgam, where they were referred to Anantnag Hospital. Zakir Ahmed Khanday succumbed on the way to the hospital, while Shavaiz's condition to stated to be stable.

22-Year-Old from Anantnag Slips to Death in Aharbal Waterfall

Danishwar Hameed A 22-year-old youth died after he accidentally fell into the Aharbal waterfall in the Damhal Hanjipora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district. A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that Suhaib Ahmad Dar aged 22, son of Shabir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Shangus visited Aharbal waterfall along with his friends fell accidentally into the waterfall on Tuesday afternoon. Immediately after the incident, Rescuers swung into action but could not save the life of the youth. The body of the deceased has been found and will be handed over to his legal heirs after the completion of medico-legal formalities.

23-Year-old Youth Crushed to Death in Kulgam

An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday morning a 23-year-old youth from the Ashmuji area in Kulgam was crushed to death after a four-wheeler (Dumper) ran over him. Kulgam Residents Protest Demanding Pure Drinking Water Supply

Scores of inhabitants including women from Wanpoh area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday staged a protest against Jal Shakti department for “failing” to provide pure drinking water supply. The protesters from different villages including K G Raina, Mogalbagh, Bagh-e-Wanpoh, Sofigund assembled and blocked the Kulgam road, affecting the traffic movement for several hours.
