14-year-young boy goes missing in Kokernag

Ishfaq Wagay The family of a 14-year-young teenager who has been missing from his home since Wednesday has appealed to him to return home. Family members told The Kashmiriyat that Sajad Ahmed Seeri son of Saein Seeri went missing from his home in Mathindoo Larnoo area of Kokernag in south Kashmir's Anantnag district. The family members have appealed to him to return back. "It is a humble and sincere appeal to everyone to help share this message more and more to get their son to return to him back to the family," the family members said.

Amid rising drug addiction, Islamic Seminary conducts Bhang destruction drive in south Kashmir

Amid the rising drug addiction in the Kashmir valley, an Islamic seminary based in south Kashmir conducted a Bhang (cannabis) destruction drive in south Kashmir's Anantnag district on Thursday afternoon. "During the drive, Bhang was destroyed in two villages in the main town of south Kashmir's Anantnag district. More than thirteen youth were caught red-handed collecting cannabis here. Thousands participate in Ashura processions taken out in south Kashmir

Anantnag man found dead in Kulgam

Kulgam, Suhail Dar The dead body of a mid-aged man was found near a tree in the Tachooo area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday morning. Civilian injured during Kulgam encounter

A civilian and an Army man were injured in an encounter at Redwani area of Kulgam district on Friday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint of team of Army, police and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area. He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. He said that during the exchange of fire, one civilian and an Army man were injured, who have rushed to the hospital for treatment. Kulgam gunfight: One army personnel injured, Operation continues

An Army trooper has been injured in an ongoing gunfight in Redwani area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday. A top police officer told GNS that a army personnel was injured in an ongoing anti-militancy operation in Redwani. He was immediately evacuated to nearby hospital, where his condition is said to be stable, the officer added. Nine injured in Pahalgam accident

At least nine persons were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a river in Pahalgam area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district, officials said.
