Pulwama youth runs the world’s most expensive chicken farm A  youth from South Kashmir's Pulwama district has started a unique poultry farm where he is rearing and selling the world's most expensive chicken. Aadil Abbas Mir, (34), son of Mohammad Abbas Mir, a resident of new colony Arihal in Pulwama district of southern Kashmir, has started this farm two years ago and at present, six youth of locality are working in his farm. South Kashmir: Gunfight rages in Kulgam

Encounter broke out between militants and government forces in Rampora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Saturday. Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Rampora. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight. A senior police officer also confirmed to GNS about exchange of firing between militants and security forces.(GNS)

Two bodies were recovered in two separate incidents in Qazigund and Pahalgam areas of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday, officials said here. A man was found dead in Nussu Badragund area of Qazigund, while an unidentified body was also found in Pahalgam in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that body of a man was spotted by some locals in Nussu village of Qazigund, who accordingly informed the police. 17-year-young boy goes missing from Kokernag, Family seeks help

The family of a 17-year-young boy who has been missing from Monday  from his home in Kokenag has appealed him to return home. Family members told The Kashmiriyat that Faisal Ahmad Najar son of Ghulam Ahmad Najar a resident of Hiller area of Kokernag in south Kashmir's Anantnag district. "He left home for some work on Monday but didn't came back until now," family said The family members have appealed to him to return back. "It is a humble and sincere appeal to everyone to help share this message more and more to get their son to return to him back to the family," the family members said.

Suhail Dar On Wednesday afternoon a 12-year-old boy was hit by a two-wheeler in Shangus area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district. The boy has been identified as Surjeel Fayaz Beigh son of Fayaz Ahmed Beigh, a senior journalist who is resident of Shangus and studying in Elite Public School. Family members told The Kashmiriyat that he was getting off the school bus when a too wheeler hit him after which he was rushed to the Shangus hospital. The Doctors at Shangus referred him to GMC Anantnag, where his condition is said to be critical.

Motorcyclist injured after being allegedly hit by Army vehicle in Kulgam

A motorcyclist was injured after he was allegedly hit by Army vehicle in south Kashmir's Kulgam district. Reports reaching said The Kashmiriyat said that an accident took place between an Army vehicle and a motorcycle bearing registration number JK03B 7178 at Balsoo in Kulgam district. The accident resulted in injuries to the motorcyclist identified as Subzar Ahmad Bhat son of Late Lassa Bhat, a resident of Laroo Kulgam. Subzar who is a dairy farm owner was shifted to hospital for treatment.

National Investigation Agency is carrying out raids at multiple places in South Kashmir in connection with Sunjwan Jammu encounter in which two Jaish-e-Mohammad militants and a CISF trooper were killed in April this year. Official Sources told GNS NIA sleuths with the assistance of police and paramilitary CRPF personnel is carrying out the raids in Anantnag district and Awantipora area of Pulwama district. However they did not share further details as regards arrests or seizures, if any, during the raids so far. (GNS)

Miscreants loot cash from Gurdwara in Tral

Miscreants have looted unaccounted cash from a donation box at a Gurduwara in Tral town of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The incident occurred at Khasipora Tral during the intervening night of 11 and 12 July at Gurudwara Singh Sabha. DDC member Avtar Singh Trali told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the Gurudwara is under construction and devotees had donated a lot of money that had been kept in the safe and strong donation box, which was looted by the burglars. He expressed concern and hoped that police will nab the culprits. Avtar Singh Trali appealed to the government to deploy security guards at minority religious places. Pertinently, burglars in Kashmir Valley in the past have targeted the religious shrines mostly belonging to the majority community. (KNT)
