Bhat Imtiyaz Two people sustained serious injuries after a bike bearing registration number JK03C 9566 collided with a Scooty near College Dooru in the Anantnag district on Monday evening. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the injured have been identified as Shahid Ahmad Malik son of Mohammed Akbar Malik, a resident of Bemdoora Kokernag and Basharat Ahmad Darzi age Son of Ghulam Nabi Darzi resident of Mir Maidan Dooru. Both injured persons were shifted to district hospital Anantnag for treatment, they said. Police have registered a case in this regard. Details awaited.

12-year-old girl commits suicide in Kulgam village

Kulgam,  (KNO): A 12-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself in the Yaripora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Thursday, officials said here. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the girl (name withheld) from Yaripora hanged herself at her home today and she died on the spot. The official said that it was not immediately known why the girl took this extreme step. “Police have registered a case and initiated proceedings in this regard,” he said—(KNO)

Meer Irfan Jammu Kashmir Police on Wednesday sought the help of people in tracing a 60-year-old man missing from his home in Bonbazar Shopian since morning. According to a report lodged by his family at Shopian Police Station, Ab Gani Bhat S/O Qadir Bhar (60) left from his home in bonbazar Shopian this morning around 7:00 am and did not return till now. As per family, who spoke to The Kashmiriyat, the 60 year old was wearing a white Khan dress, half sleeve white jacket and a white skull cap. The JK administration under LG Manoj Sinha on Tuesday dissolved the management committee of Ziarat Sharief Hazratbal Khiram in Bijbehara area of Anantnag district and appointed SDM (Sub District Magistrate) Bijbehara as the management committee. “Deputy Commissioner Anantnag had constituted a committee under the chairmanship of SDM Bijbehara for examining the accounts of the shrine and other recommendations to conduct new elections for the selection of the committee to run the affairs of the shrine,” according to the government order, The SDM had also recommended a detailed inquiry into the affairs of the shrine, the order reads. Four family members were among six people who were injured in a leopard attack at Kreeri village of Dooru in South Kashmir's Anantnag in the last twenty four hours, officials said here on Tuesday. Minor girl killed in leopard attack in Anantnag

Suhail Dar A minor girl was killed in a leopard attack in the Anantnag district's Gopalpur area. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday evening, a 6-year-old girl named Zubaida Jan daughter of Ghulam Mohiuddin Chopan was pounced upon by a leopard when she was outside her home. The family along with the locals tried to rescue Zubaida, however, the leopard left the minor girl with critical wounds leading to her death.

An encounter has started between militants and Government forces in the Nawapora, Mir Bazar area in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Wednesday a joint group of RR,  CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in Nowpora area of Kulgam, launched a cordon and search operation.
