Suhail Dar A 5-year-old boy was killed after allegedly being hit by a school bus in Dawood Pora in Brah area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Wednesday, officials said. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a 5-year-old boy named Tameem Bhat son of Bilal Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Khul area was mowed down by a school bus while he was crossing the road on Wednesday morning. "We have complained several times about over speeding. the issue remains unresolved because of which today, we lost our child," a relative of the deceased boy said. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat he demanded action against the erring drivers.

Danishwar Hameed Three persons were injured in a road accident in Levdoora area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday morning, a tractor without registration no collided with a I20 vechice at Levdoora flyover on the NH 44, resulting in injuries to three persons. Danishwar Hameed One woman died during a road accident in the Quimoh area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir while her daughter was injured in the road accident. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday around 6.30pm, an oil tanker bearing the number JK02CR 7345 hit a scooty near the Khudwani bypass, injuring three persons. "In the said accident two pillion riders namely Nelofer wife of Mohammed Yaseen Mantoo and Zarka daughter of of Mohammed Yaseen Mantoo got injured and were evacuated to district hospital Anantnag," the official said. He said that Nelofer was declared dead on her arriver at the hospital, while her daughter Zarka is in critical condition. Police on Friday claimed to have busted a militant module by arresting three militants associates linked with the proscribed militant outfit JeM in Pulwama. Police spokesperson as per a statement, said that Police Pulwama alongwith 55 RR and 182/183 bn CRPF arrested three militant associates of militant outfit JeM. Pulwama Police yesterday received information from the residents of Lelhar village of Kakapora Pulwama that some locals detected an idol which was believed to be “three-headed goddess Vishnu, on this a Police team from Police Station Kakapora rushed towards the spot and taken the old idol into possession. After that Pulwama Police informed the archeological team about the same and after completing all legal formalities, Pulwama Police handed it over to the Archaeological Survey department of India, who will start research about its whereabouts and source. The source of this idol is not known yet. Latest reports suggest that efforts are still on to dig and excavate more such idols which can be old.

Residents of Thajiwara Achabal in this south Kashmir’s district blocked Anantnag-Achabal road and staged protest against Jal Shakti Department for “failing” to provide drinking water supply to the area. According to the protesters, mainly women, the residents face acute shortage of drinking water supply. They alleged that they have brought the issue to the notice of concerned department several times but to no avail They appealed the authorities to provide them the drinking water at an earliest so as to alleviate them of the routine sufferings. “The concerned department and government make only tall claims but we do not get drinking water,” the protesters said as per reports reaching GNS and urged higher authorities of concerned department to redress the issue with reasonable haste....
