Despite Darkness- Clashes Erupt near Shopian Encounter Site

August 03 Intense clashes between protesters and government forces erupted near gunfight site in Kiloora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district where a gunfight between militants and forces is underway. Gunfight is on as two Militants are believed to be trapped in the area, official sources told The Kashmiriyat. A Local told The Kashmiriyat that Hundreds of protesters assembled and pelted stones on forces who retaliated with tear smoke shelling and pellet firing at near the encounter site Announcements are being made on loudspeakers in the mosques asking others to come out and help the trapped Militants escape, a local told The Kashmiriyat. People in large numbers from adjacent areas are marching towards the encounter site.

Islamic Cleric Arrested for Leading the Funeral Prayers of his Militant Cousin

August 03 An Islamic cleric has been arrested from his home in Shalipora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District on last friday. Identified as Hafiz Tahir Ahmed resident of Shalipora Kulgam was arrested after leading the funeral prayers of his Militant cousin, Mudasir Ahmed on 22 July 2018. His father, Mohammed Ayoub Dar speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that Tahir was arrested during a raid by Government Forces on last Friday and they charged him with leading the funeral of his cousin. Road Accident in Kokernag- 8 Injured

August 03 Sheikh Nadeem/ Waris Shah Eight persons were injured after two Alto cars rammed into each other at Dandipora area of Kokernag area in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District on Friday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a Car Bearing registration number JK03 C- 6367 collided with another Alto car with the number JK02 BQ- 0940 coming from the opposite direction. Brick Kilns Killing Kashmir Slowly- Officials in Deep Sleep

August 03 SAMEER KASHMIRI In January this year government issued the closure orders to 16 brick kilns in district Islamabad (Anantnag) and the remaining of 53 manufacturing units have been working without ‘mandatory consent’ since. Grenade Attack at Lal Chowk, Islamabad (Anantnag)

August 03 Suspected Militants hurled a Grenade on a Guard post of CRPF at SBI Lal chowk Branch in South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) township. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that suspected Militants on a bike hurled a grenade on CRPF post in the bank and fired a gunshot also. Massive Clashes Erupt in Pulwama

August 03 Massive clashes erupted in Pulwama town over the rumour of the killing of a local Militant in Sopore's Dursoo Bahrampora early morning on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth hit the streets as soon as the news of the Local B.tech student who had joined Militants two days back spread in the area. The youth shouting pro Freedom slogans hurled stones on the Government Forces deployed in the area who retaliated with tear smoke shelling. Rumours have spread that the BTech student Khurshid Ahmad Malik son of Gh Nabi Malik resident of Arbal village of Pulwama who had gone missing a few days ago has been killed in the gunfight.
