Cloudburst Causes Damage in Kokernag Belt- MLA Asks for Compensation

July 29 There have been incidents of cloud bursts at many places in Kokernag area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district during the past few days, causing a lot of damage to agriculture and threat to the public lives. The areas that have suffered in the past few days include, Mathindoo, Rein-Arther, Guridraman, Ahlan Gadol, wandewalgam, Zalangam, Bindoo, Kokernag. There has been a lot of damage to crops and plantations and the flash floods have also caused errosion to the land and damaged few residential structures. The MLA of Kokernag, Abdul Rahim Rather, has asked the district administration to have an assessment of loss and prepare and forward the cases to they government for compensation of the sufferers. CRPF Man Shot at in Pulwama

July 29 A CRPF man was fired at by suspected Militants in Naira area of Tahab in South Kashmir's Pulwama District late night on Sunday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a CRPF man identified as Naseer Ahmad who was on a leave was shot at and injured by unknown persons at his native Naira area. The Injured cop has been rushed to the hospital. Massive CASO Underway in Daramdora Shopian

July 29 The Government forces laid down a Cordon and search operation in area Daramdora Keegam of South Kashmir's Shopian District on Sunday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 44RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. A Door to door search operation has been launched in the area. Meanwhile the Cordon and Search Operations Launched in Tiken Pulwama and Quimoh Kulgam have been called off after nothing was found in the areas.

July 28 Massive Clashes erupted during a CASO launched in Tiken area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. The Government forces laid down a Cordon and search operation in area Bellow area  on Saturday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. Hundreds of youth hit the streets when the Anti Militancy operation was launched and threw stones on troops amid intense pro Freedom sloganeering. July 29 A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched in Mokdampora of Quimoh in South Kashmir's Kulgam district on Sunday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 1 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched the anti Militancy operation after receiving an input about Militant movement in the area. The CASO has been launched after all the entry and exit points to the area were sealed. July 28 Suspected Militants who had abducted Special Police Officer Shakeel Ahmed Lone at his residence in Chan Kitar area of Tral late night on Friday has reached home just now. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Militants have released Shakeel who has reached home safely after his family had issued a video in the day requesting Militants to set him free. In the video, the family members had invoked God and asked Militants to Forgive Shakeel who was the brother to three sisters. July 28 Gunshots were heard during a Cordon and Search Operation launched in Khee Jogipora area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District. At least 4 CRPF men Injured in Grenade Attack at Pulwama

July 28 Unidentified persons hurled a grenade on a CRPF patrol party in Jawbehra in Awantipora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Saturday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown persons hurled a grenade on CRPF men near the camp of 130 Battalion of CRPF in the Awantipora area.
