Stone Pelting clashes in Islamabad Area

July 13 Clashes Erupted between Government Forces and Youth in harnag area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District. The Protesters assembled near the road and threw stones on troopers deployed in the area. The Troopers fired tear smoke shells on the protesters to disperse them. The clashes were however going on when this report was filed. Meanwhile a Complete shutdown is being observed in Kashmir Valley in the remembrance of 13 July 1931 killings . 

CASO Launched in Kokernag Area

July 13 Following specific input about Militant movement in Soaf Kokernag area of Islamabad (Anantnag), the government forces have laid a siege in the area. The Anti Militancy cordon and search operation is being jointly conducted by 19 RR of Indian Army, 96 BN of CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police. Gunmen assault a retired Army man in Shopian

July 13 Unknown Gunmen barged into the house of a retired Army man at Kanjiular area of south Kashmir's Shopian district late night on Thursday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that masked men entered the house of retired Army man identified as Nazir Ahmad and assaulted him to pulp. The Army man was soon rushed to the Hospital where the Doctors stated his condition to be stable. The Jammu Kashmir Police has lodged an FIR in this regard and an investigation has been taken up.

Achabal Attack- Two CRPF Men killed, two others injured

July 13 Two CRPF men have been killed and a CRPF trooper injured along with two other civilians in a suspected militant attack in Achabal area on Friday. Hospital officials confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that a CRPF constable who had been injured in the attack has just now succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Militant attack in Achabal

July 13 Suspected Militants on Friday fired upon a joint patrol of CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir police in Achabal area of South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that two bike-borne persons fired a volley of bullets on the patrolling party. As per initial reports, nobody was injured in the attack. A Search operation has been launched to nab the culprits. Details emerging.

Intense Stone Pelting Clashes Erupt in Shopian’s Memander

July 11 Intense Stone throwing clashes erupted in Memander area of South Kashmir's Shopian as hundreds of youth hit the streets. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that youth shouting slogans against civilian killings appeared on the roads and the forces deployed in the area fired tear smoke shells on them. The youth in retaliation threw stones on them and tried to chase them away, however the youth regrouped in large numbers and continued the stone throwing. The clashes were going on when this report was filed.

Minor Killed in Shopian Blast, 4 others Injured

July 11 A Minor was killed while four others were injured in a mysterious blast in Memander area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a group of young boys was playing in a field in the area when a mysterious object suddenly exploded causing injuries to five. One of the boys succumbed to his injuries and four others are still being treated at the Shopian District Hospital. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that it was an unexploded shell, however Police officials said that they are checking facts.

A Gunfight had raged early morning on Tuesday in Shopian District when Militants allegedly opened fire on a party of Government Forces who were conducting a search operation in the Kundalan area. As soon as the news of the encounter spread, hundreds of civilians from nearby areas in an attempt to help the trapped Militants reached the Village throwing stones on Government Forces. July 10 The Encounter in Shopian has concluded just now with the killing of the militants hiding in a house in the Kundalan area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Highly placed officials confirmed the identity of the slain Militants to The Kashmiriyat as Sameer Ahmed Sheikh of Ayend Shopian and said the other militant is likely a foreigner.
