Meer Irfan An Automated Milk Collection Center (AMCC) was inaugurated today by Jammu Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission (UMEED) at Keshwa Chitragam Shopian as a Women's Dairy Cooperative. The inauguration was done in presence of Branch Head JK Bank Chitragam Umar, Sajad Ahmed, JKMPCL, District Programme Managers from NRLM Irfan Basheer & Uzma Mehraj in a centralized ceremony carried by Cluster Level Federation NRLM Chitragam. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, locals claimed that the PDP-Congress Government approved a new building for PHC Qaimoh in 2003, which was later elevated to SDH at the locals' request. They said that PHC had been transformed into a 50-bed SDH, and the building would cost Rs 19.34 crores to erect. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, aghast residents said that despite issuing a curtailment schedule with several power cuts, the Department has failed to provide uninterrupted power supply during the non-curtailment hours. Residents of Kulgam are demanding widening of vital Bathipora-Manzgam road causing inconvenience to commuters. Locals from the area told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the road was constructed in 1957 during the reign of erstwhile J&K Prime Minister Bakshi Ghulam Mohammad and since then it has not been upgraded. They said that the road is less than 12 feet wide and makes it difficult for commuters to travel smoothly on the busy route.
