Both were involved in Killing of TA personnel Saleem,Two Civilians: ADGP Kashmir Two Local Hizb-ul-Mujahideen Militants were on Tuesday killed in Pushkari Kanilwan, who as per Police were involved in killing of TA personnel and two civilians. The Kashmir Police Zone while quoting ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar wrote on twitter, " Killed militants identified as Danish Bhat @ Kokab Duree & Basharat Nabi, both affiliated with proscribed militant outfit HM. Both were involved in killing of one TA personnel Saleem on 9 April 2021 & killing of two civilians on 29 May 2021 in Jablipora,". GNS

Two militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter at Pushkari Kanilwan area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday. Official sources told GNS, that two militants have been killed in an ongoing encounter, however identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained. Earlier Reports reaching GNS that a joint team of Police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Pushkari Kanilwan. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.(GNS)

Shopian Encounter: Militants escape from gunfight spot

Militants have escaped from the encounter spot in South Kashmir’s Shopian district. An encounter between militants and joint forces had broken out yesterday in Bsakuchan area of the district. After the initial exchange of fire, the area had been sealed off as the operation was halted during night hours. SSP Shopian, Tanushree confirmed to news agency Kashmir News Trust that militants escaped from the encounter spot. The operation has been called off. (KNT)

Akir Ahmad,22, son of Mohammed Akram Pall, a resident of Drawani Imamsahib in Shopian has been missing from his home since yesterday evening, his family members told The Kashmiriyat. "We have been trying to call him since, but to not avail," he said. Akir's family has filed a missing report at the concerned Police station in Imamsahib Shopian. Body of a man with bullet marks was found in Shopian district on Monday morning, officials said here. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the body was spotted by some passersby, following which they informed the police. He said that soon after getting the information, a team of police reached to the spot and recovered body. Suhail Dar Anantnag's District hospital which was upgraded to a Medical College in 2019 is the premier hospital for south Kashmir districts and also witnesses patient intake from the district of Banihal. According to the official figures, the hospital has an intake of 800 patients on an average per day. The patients include those from Pulwama, Shopian, Anantnag and Kulgam, sometimes Banihal too. Among these hundreds of patients who visit the doctors at GMC Anantnag was Zafar's sister, who had been recommended an MRI scan. The hospital, however, lacks basic facilities including the Magnetic Resonance imaging (MRI) facility, forcing the patients either go to Srinagar hospitals or private diagnostic centres. Residents of Achabal Anantnag on Thursday staged a protest demonstration against Jal Shakti Department against supply of contaminated water to the area. The protesters, mainly women, blocked traffic and shouted slogans in favour of their “sole” demand for potable water from Achbal and not from the present means. “Our issue is about the supply of drinking water on which life depends. We are being provided contaminated water as a result of which our children fall ill on a regular basis,” a woman protester said as per the GNS correspondent. Later police reached the spot and restored the traffic. Two militants affiliated with LeT were killed in a gunfight that broke out between militants and government forces at Nagbal village of Zainapora area in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said on Tuesday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of police, Army and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area. He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
