One Dead, 3 Injured in Tral Road Mishap

Mohammad Mufeez A person was killed while three sustained injuries in a road mishap in South Kashmir’s Tral on Saturday. Talking to The Kashmiriyat, a local said that a load carrier Auto Skidded at Paner Jageer, Tral on early Saturday, resulting in the on spot death of a perosn while three others sustained injuries in the mishap. All injured persons were shifted to nearby hospital for advanced treatment. They are said to be stable now. The deceased has been identified as Ab Rahman parry from Koil ShiKargah Tral, while the injured have been identified as Mohd Yaqoob Gujar from Karmullah Tral,Bilal Ahmad Bhat from Koil ShiKargah Tral and his wife injured. A police official told The Kashmiriyat that a case has been registered and further investigation, initiated.

Skinder Gull One youth died while as two others were injured in a road accident in Litter area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Thursday morning a car aruti with registration no JK01A-3585 collided with a motorcycle bearing registration no PB36G-2431 resulting in critical injuries to three persons. The injured were shifted to the nearby hospital in Pulwama for treatment, while as one of them identified as Yonis Ahmed Tantray, a resident of Naina area in sangam of Pulwama district succumbed to his injuries. Two others are being treated at the district hospital Pulwama. The Jammu Kashmir Police has registereda case in this regard and further investigation has been launched.

Skinder Gulzar The Jammu Kashmir Police in Pulwama along with local volunteers destroyed wild bung in the jurisdiction of PS Litter. This drive was an effort to eradicate the menace of drugs. An official told The Kashmiriyat that the team headed by SDPO Litter along with SHO PS Litter and some local volunteers of the area destroyed wild bung in village Rakh-Litter. The general public of the area has appreciated the action of Pulwama Police. The team has requested the community members to come forward with any information regarding the cultivation of contraband in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt as per law, the official said.

Mohd Mufeez A young boy fell down from a walnut tree in Amirabad area of Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama district resulting into injuries on the head. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a youth identified as Irfan Ahmad Trag, son of Mohammad Ayoub Trag on Wednesday afternoon was grievously injured when he fell down from a walnut tree. Forces in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district said that they arrested a newly recruited militant of Lashkar -E- Toiba (LeT) on Friday. A Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in Sethargund area of Kakapora, South Kashmir's Pulwama district. In the search operation the Militant was arrested as the CASO cordoned off the area. A police officer told Kashmir News Observer (KNO), “On specific information, CASO was launched in which one militant identified as Shanaf Akbar Bhat of Khadermoh Kakapora of LeT was arrested along ammunition.” A case has been registered and an investigation has been initiated by the Police.

3 Militant Hideouts of Jaish-e-Muhammad Found in Tral, Pulwama

The government forces on Friday claimed to have busted three militant hideouts of Jaish-e-Muhammad in Tral area of South Kashmir's Pulwama district. An official told The Kashmiriyat that the Forces including 42RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the Buchoo and Kamla areas of Tral. During the search in the area by the joint team of forces, three hideouts of JeM were busted, the official told. He said that the joint team was able to recover incriminating materials from the hideout. The Jammu Kashmir Police has registered a case under FIR number 78 of 2020 at Police Station Tral and started investigation into the matter.

An encounter has started between Militants and Government Forces in Babhara area of South Kashmir Pulwama district, this is the second encounter of the day. A Police official said that on Friday afternoon, 55RR of Indian Army, CRPF, and Jammu Kashmir Police, after receiving inputs about Militant presence laid a cordon and search operation in the area. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the cordon continued for nearly an hour, during which the hiding militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter.
