The villagers speaking to The Kashmiriyat alleged that department is adopting 'Delaying tactics' in repairing the defunct transformer and restoring electricity. Residents of Astan Mohalla in Sofigund village alleged that the 63 KV transformer of their locality went defunct four times in past four months leaving the village reeling under darkness. Yet Another CASO launched by Forces in Tral

January 10 Continuing their stiff Anti Militancy operations, the Government Forces on Thursday launched a Cordon and Search operation in Tral area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District. The Kashmiriyat has been informed that Indian Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles, 180 Battalion of Central Reserve Police Force and Jammu Kashmir Police in Large contingents reached the Naikpora area in Amirabad Tral and laid a siege around the area. The cordon has been laid following an input about Militant movement, however prior to this the forces blocked all the alleys leading to the area. Unknown Persons Damage Sufi Shrine in Pulwama, Police Catches Mentally Sick

January 10 Unknown persons today in the wee hours damaged shrine which is located at south Kashmir's Pahwoo area of pulwama district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that  the window panes,doors and many other things at the shrine have been damaged by unknown persons.   (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The Locals chased the attackers away who were three in number, however they escaped from the spot. One person has been arrested in this regard, who Police says appears a 'mentally challenged' man. A police team reached the spot and arrested the person. “Apparently the person looks mentally challenged,” a Police official said.

30 Sikh Sarpanchs and Panchs Resign in Pulwama

January 09 Following the killing of a Sikh youth by unknown gunmen in Tral about 30 Sarpanchs and Panchs from the Sikh communtity have resigned en masse in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Militants Attack Army camp in Tral

January 08 Panic gripped Lurgam area of Tral belt in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Tuesday evening when the sound of gunshots reverberated  in the area. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that suspected Militants opened fire upon a camp of 42 RR of Indian Army in Panzoo area of Tral. However, the army men deployed in the camp retaliated to the fire, however the attackers managed to successfully escape from the spot. As per initial reports nobody was injured in the attack, a search operation has been launched in the area to nab the attackers. Details emerging.

Constructed 17 Years Ago, Non Functional Hospital at Drubgam Becomes preferred Home to Dogs

January 07 Jahangeer Ganie Constructed nearly seventeen years ago, the hospital in Drubgam area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District remains non functional due to official callousness, the only service that the hospital provides is once in a while, Pulse Polio immunization. The hospital located ten kilometers away from the district headquarters of Pulwama was announced by the then MLA of Rajpora, Syed Bashir promising that the hospital will be functional soon. January 05 Intense Clashes that began in Tral early morning after the news of encounter spread in the area are still going on. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth are out on the streets of Aripal in Tral who have been trying to march towards the encounter site since morning.
