A team of National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday raided a residential house of a private teacher in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, official sources said. They said that the residential house of a private teacher identified as Farooq Ahmad Wani son of Mum Wani, a resident of Gusoo Pulwama was searched by a team of the probing agency. Official sources confirmed to Srinagar based news agency KDC that searches were carried out in connection with a case already registered at the police station of NIA and some documents were seized during the raid. The house owner was picked up by the NIA for further questioning” they said, adding that further details will be shared later. (KDC)

23-year-old Owais Yaqoob who is from the Pulwama district bagged a gold medal in the 6th national Bangalore open MMA championship 2021 played at Forum Mall in Bangalore, Karnataka. Owais won the gold medal in the under 75 Kg weight category. In the competition, a total of 175 top fighters from various parts of India participated. In the quarterfinal, he won by Technical Knockout (TKO) against an opponent from Telangana. Police on Monday claimed claimed have arrested two militant associates of Jaish-i-Muhammad outfit in South Kashmir Pulwama district. In a statement to GNS, the police said that on specific information about the movements of Anti National elements, Pulwama Police with assistance of 44 RR and 182 Bn CRPF arrested two militant associate of outfit Jaish -i- Mohammad involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the militants as well as in transporting of Arms/Ammunition and explosive material for the terrorists Jurisdiction of Pulwama. Police man was shot at by unknown gunmen in Bandzoo area of Pulwama district on Sunday An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that suspected militants fired upon one police man namely Mushtaq ahmad wagay son of Gh wagay resident of Bandzoo Pulwama. He said Mushtaq waa presently performing his duties in DPL Pulwama as washerman and has received fire in his leg. He added that local residents rushed him to near by district Hospital Pulwama where from he has been refered to SMHS Srinagar for further treatmemt. Three militants affiliated with LeT and a solider were killed in an encounter between government forces and militants in Hanjin village of Rajpora hamlet in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Friday. A senior police officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that three unidentified militants have been killed whose identification is being ascertained while as operation is on in the area. One Army man was killed during a Gunfight that between Militants and Government forces in the Hanjan area of Rajpora in Pulwama late on Thursday. Reports reaching The Kashmiriyat said that on Thursday night Joint forces including 44 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid a joint cordon and search operation in the the Hanjan area of Pulwama. They said that as the forces reached the spot where the Militants were suspected to be holed up, the militants opened fire. The forces retaliated, according to reports. During the exchange of gunfire, one Army man and one Militant has been killed. The deceased Army man has been identified as Hawaldar Kashi of 44 RR. Meanwhile internet services have been suspended the Pulwama district as a precautionary measure.
