Affiliate of Zakir Musa Likely Killed in Tral Encounter

November 27 One Militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter between Militants and Government Forces in the Hafoo, Reshipora area of Tral in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District on Tuesday morning. Earlier Forces including 42 RR of Indian Army, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police and 180 CRPF had launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area upon receiving a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat. Nocturnal CASO Launched in Pulwama Area

November 18 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Putrigam area of South Kashmir's Pulwama  District. On Monday Night, the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to this Pulwama area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. A search operation was going on when this report was being filed.

Another Panchayat Ghar Set Ablaze in South Kashmir

November 26 Unknown persons on Monday evening set ablaze a panchayat ghar in Goripora area of Awantipora of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a Panchayat building was set on fire in  Giripora Awantipora on Monday evening by unknown persons and the building suffered major damage. A Police official confirming the incident said that the Police and fire and emergency services rushed to the spot and doused the fire.

Another CASO Launched in Malangpora Pulwama

November 25 The Government Forces on Sunday launched another cordon and search operation in Malangpora area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Sunday evening, the forces including 55 RR of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police sealed all the entry and exit points to the area. A heavy contingent of forces reached this Pulwama locality and are conducting a search operation in the area, Locals told The Kashmiriyat. Earlier a CASO had also been launched in the same locality, but it was later called off after nothing was found in the area. Intense Erupt in Pulwama Town

November 25 Violent clashes have erupted in Pulwama town of South Kashmir after the killing of six Militants in Batagund area of South Kashmir's Shopian District Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth shouting pro Freedom and Anti India slogans hit the streets and threw stones on Forces deployed in the area. The Forces tried to disperse the youth by throwing tear smoke shells, however the clashes were going on, when this report was filed. Meanwhile train services to South Kashmir remained suspended for the third consecutive day. Mobile internet services have been suspended in the Shopian district of South Kashmir.  

Sikh Leader resigns after Grenade attack on the house of fellow candidiate

November 25 A Sikh Candidate for Panchayat elections from Gaziabad Tral in South Kashmir's Pulwama District has withdrawn his candidature following an attack on the house of another Panch Candidate namely Surinder Singh of Padibal, in Devar Tral on Saturday evening. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Balbir Singh has withdrawn his candidature from Ward 3 of Tral for the ongoing Panchayat polls and said that he has nothing to do with the electoral process. Grenade Attack on Panch House in Pulwama

November 24 Suspected Militants on Saturday evening hurled a grenade at the residence of Surrendar Singh of Padibal area of Devar village of Tral township in Pulwama district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that  grenade was hurled at the residence of Panch Candidate namely Surinder Singh of Padibal, in Devar Tral on Saturday evening. The grenade landed inside the house and exploded without causing any loss of life or damage. "The grenade hurled at the residence of Surrendar Singh but it missed the target" an Police official told The Kashmiriyat. Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles and J&K police rushed to the spot and conducted searches to nab the assailants. The searches were going on when this report was being filed.

Suspected Militants Attack the house of Congress Leader in Tral

November 23 Suspected Militants on Friday evening hurled a grenade at the residence of Congress leader in Monghama village of Tral township in Pulwama district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that  grenade was hurled at the residence of Congress leader Surinder Singh Channi, in Monghama Tral at 6:15 pm on Friday evening. The grenade landed inside the compound of the house and exploded without causing any loss of life or damage. Army’s 42 Rashtriya Rifles and J&K police rushed to the spot and conducted searches to nab the assailants. The searches were going on when this report was being filed.
