2 Civilians Injured in Grenade Blast at Awantipora

August 17 Unknown persons hurled a grenade at the office of Superintendent of Police in Awantipora on Friday afternoon resulting in injuries to two persons, one of them has been critically wounded. A Police official posted in Awantipora confirmed the attack to The Kashmiriyat and said that one civilian has sustained serious injuries. He has been shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment. Meanwhile the Forces have started a search operation around the area to nab the attackers.

Unknown Gunmen kill Woman In Pulwama

August 17 Unknown persons on Friday killed a woman outside her home in Drabgam in South Kashmir's Pulwama. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that unknown gunmen fired at a lady, shameema Akhtar  wife of Ali Mohammed Bhat outside her house in Drabgam. The lady was rushed to the hospital, however she had died on the spot, Locals said. A Police official upon being contacted told The Kashmiriyat that Police has registered a Case in this regard and an investigation has been taken up.

Massive CASO Launched in Native of Sameer Tiger

August 13 A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched in Drabgam area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Thursday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Government Forces including 44 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police launched a joint Anti Militancy operation in the area following specific input about Militant presence in the area. Locals said that a heavy contingent of Forces have reached the area and are conducting a search operation in the area. The search operation was going on when this report was filed. August 15 Unknown persons lobbed a grenade on Police Station in main town of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Wednesday night. August 14 Massive Clashes erupted during a CASO launched in Hanjan area of Rajpora in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and BN CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. Truck Driver Dies in Pampore after being Electrocuted

August 14 A Truck driver died when his hand accidentally came into contact with a high tension wire in Khrew area of Pampore in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that driver was rushed to the hospital after being electrocuted, however he succumbed on the way to the hospital. He has been identified as Shabir Mir of Satpukhran area in Khrew.

August 13 Gulzar Ahmed Bhat, a resident of Murran village of Pulwama district whose dead body was found on Monday morning in his native village was lone son and bread earner of his family. Family sources told The Kashmiriyat that Gulzar left home on Sunday at 5 pm for market, but he didn't return till late evening. "We tried to call him on phone but he didn't pick up and we got worried," they said. August 13 The Sirnoo area in  South Kashmir's Pulwama District is observing a complete shutdown on Monday against the 'Atrocities' committed by Forces in the area on Sunday during a cordon and Search Operation. Tral Shuts Against Arrests

August 13 At least ten people including the family members of Militants Hammad Khan and Adfar Adil have been detained in Tral belt of South Kashmir's Pulwama District for the past four days. People in large numbers amid a complete shutdown demanded the release of youth who have been arrested during raids in the Tral belt. A Police official confirmed the arrests and said that the youth have been detained for questioning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the youth have been detained in connection with the kidnapping and attacks on SPOs in the Tral area.
