9 SPOs from South Kashmir Announce that they have Quit Police Job

August 10 Nine special Police officers( SPOs) have made announcements in two Masjids of Tral division of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the head preacher of a local mosque in Pastuna and Larow areas of Tral had received letters from nine SPOs saying that they had quit jobs. At Pastuna, the letters were received from SPOs identified in the letter as Parvaiz Ahmed Ahanger, Hilal Ahmed Khan, Muzaffar Ahmed Khan, Mudasir Ahmed Mir, Irshad Ahmed rather and Ishrat Allie. The preacher of the mosque read the letter in which the SPOs had announced their voluntary retirement from the Police job seeking apology from the public. Similarly in a local Masjid at Larow Tral, the Imam had received apology letters from SPOs named as Ishaq Ahmed Bhat, Gulza...

Weapon Snatching Bid Foiled in Pampore

August 10 Unknown persons on Friday entered into the branch of Jammu Kashmir bank located at Khrew area in Pampore belt of Pulwama District trying to snatch the rifle of the bank guard. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that bank guard deployed near the gate foiled the attempt by fighting of the persons who tried to snatch the weapon. The attackers later fled from the spot after which the Police reached the spot and launched a Search operation to nab the attackers. Reports said that the attackers tried to pour chili powder on the eyes of the bank guard but he averted a rifle snatching by being vigil, Sources said.  

Shutdown, Protests in Tral Against Arrest Spree

August 10 At least ten people including the family members of Militants have been detained in Tral belt of South Kashmir's Pulwama District for the past two days. People in large numbers came out on Friday amid a complete shutdown and threw stones on vehicles of Government Forces in the area which triggered clashes. A Police official confirmed the arrests and said that the youth have been detained for questioning. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the youth have been detained in connection with the kidnapping and attacks on SPOs in the Tral area.

Militancy Growing Swiftly- Two More Youth From Pulwama Join Lashkar e Taiba

August 10 Though the Government Forces have been escalating Anti Militancy operation and making appeals to youth to move away from Militancy. However these growing encounters two more youth from South Kashmir district of Pulwama have joined the Militant ranks. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Adil Ahmed Wani son of Maznoor Ahmed Wani, a resident of Padgampora in Awantipora area of Pulwama District has joined Militant outfit Lashkar e Taiba. His photograph with a gun has gone viral over the social networking. Meanwhile another youth from Pampore identified as Mohammed Amin Mir whose family had issued an appeal asking Amin to return home has also posed with an AK47 Gun. Few Weeks Ahead of marriage, Pampore Youth Goes Missing

August 09 A Youth from South Kashmir's Pampore area in Pulwama District has gone missing from his home from the 29th of the last month. Reports suggest that the 28-year-old youth from Pampore identified as Mohammad Amin Mir worked with Khyber Milk as a distributor of its products in the Pampore town. Amin is an orphan and his father Ghulam Rasool passed away in 2016, his mother had died in 1993, his family has issued a video on Social Media asking him to return Family members said that he was set to be married in a few weeks and they have been searching him since he went missing, but to no avail. Amin is survived by four brothers.

Massive Clashes During CASO in Pulwama Town

August 04 Massive Clashes erupted during a CASO launched in Shangerpora area of main town in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. The Government forces laid down a Cordon and search operation in the main town area  on Saturday evening . Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. Massive Clashes Erupt in Pulwama

August 03 Massive clashes erupted in Pulwama town over the rumour of the killing of a local Militant in Sopore's Dursoo Bahrampora early morning on Friday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of youth hit the streets as soon as the news of the Local B.tech student who had joined Militants two days back spread in the area. The youth shouting pro Freedom slogans hurled stones on the Government Forces deployed in the area who retaliated with tear smoke shelling. Rumours have spread that the BTech student Khurshid Ahmad Malik son of Gh Nabi Malik resident of Arbal village of Pulwama who had gone missing a few days ago has been killed in the gunfight. However officials are yet to confirm anything in this regard.

Engineering Student Goes Missing in Pulwama, May Have joined Militants

August 02 An Engineering student has gone missing from his home in Arabal Nikas in South Kashmir's Pulwama District since Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that youth identified as Khursheed Ahmed Malik son of Ghulam Nabi Malik left home early morning on Tuesday and since then there has been no trace of him. The family issued a video immediately urging their son to return home asking Khursheed to consider the ill health of his mother adding that if Khursheed is with anyone, they should let him go home on humanitarian basis. Nocturnal Raids Continue in South Kashmir-2 More Arrested

August 01 Two Youth were arrested by Government Forces during a nocturnal raid at Seer in Tral division of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that two youth identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed wani and Peer Mushtaq were arrested when Government Forces raided the Seer locality late night on Tuesday. The Forces detained the youth and told the locals that they were being detained for questioning. The Locals said that the youth have not been released as of yet.

CASO launched in Pulwama Area

July 31 A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched in Batpora of Niloora area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Tuesday. The 55 RR Of Indian Army, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police jointly launched the operation, Officials told The Kashmiriyat. Locals said that huge contingents of troops are conducting a search operation in the area. The search operation has been launched following a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area, Officials said.
