Grenade followed by Firing in Pulwama Area

July 21 Suspected Militants on Saturday night hurled a Grenade on a joint camp of CRPF and 55 RR at Tahab area in South Kashmir's Pulwama. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a Casper vehicle of Indian Army outside Tahab Pulwama came under grenade attack. The alert sentry fired in the air forcing the attackers to flee from the spot. A massive search operation has been launched in Tahab and Lassipora post the attack. Details emerging.

2 More Youth Join Lashkar e Taiba

July 19 Two More youth from South Kashmir's Pulwama district have joined Militants as their photos have been doing rounds on Social networking sites. One youth as per photograph has been identified as Irfan Ahmed Digoo Son of Manzoor Ahmed Digoo resident of Naina Batpora in Sangam area of South Kashmir. Irfan was a student of B.Sc First year before he went missing the last month from his residence in Batpora. Locals of the area while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that he has been missing for a while and his parents have been looking for him since. Dead Body of Youth Fished out in Pulwama

July 19 The body of a youth was fished our from Jhelum river in Lelhar Kakpora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Thursday afternoon. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the youth who had gone for swimming in the river drowned and could not swim back to the shore, His body was later recovered by the locals but not before he had died. The deceased was identified as Amir Ahmed from Reshipora in Awantipora area of South Kashmir. Police officials confirmed the death of the youth to The Kashmiriyat.

Intense Stone Pelting Clashes in Pulwama Area

July 18 Intense Clashes have erupted on Wednesday morning in the Neva area of Pulwama in South Kashmir. Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that the clashes began after scores of youth started throwing stones on a Army vehicle that passed through the area. The troops tried to chase away the protesting youth and also called in Police and the CRPF who fired tear smoke shells to disperse the protesters. However the clashes were going on when this report was filed.

Militants Attack Army camp in Pulwama

July 17 Suspected Militants on Tuesday Night fired a UGBL Grenade at the camp of 44 RR of Indian Army located in the Hawal area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the persons after hurling the grenade fired a few shots at the camp, however the alert sentry fired shots in retaliation forcing the attackers to escape from the spot. Officials Confirmed to The Kashmiriyat that nobody was injured in the attack. CASO Launched in Pulwama Area

July  17 An Anti militancy Cordon and Search operation has been launched at Ladrimada of Bandina area inSouth Kashmir's Pulwama District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir police jointly launched the cordon and search operation in the locality. Following a specific input about Militant movement, the troops have launched a door to door search operation in the area. Earlier a Cordon had been launched in Quimoh area of Kulgam  in South Kashmir. Details emerging.

Militant Attack in Pulwama, 2 Rifles Snatched

July 16 Unknown Gunmen on Monday opened fire on the house of a National Conference Leader Ghulam Mohuddin Mir in Muran area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. As per initial reports, the gunmen have fled away with two rifles after injuring two Policemen. The Injured Policemen who were Personal Security officers to the NC leader have been shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that unknown gunmen opened fire at the guard post of Mir and snatched weapons from the Guards. Reports suggest that one of the Injured Policeman has succumbed to his injuries.

Road Accident in Awantipora- 2 Injured

July 16 Two drivers were critically wounded when a truck and oil tanker collided near Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the drivers of both the oil tanker and the truck sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to the hospital for treatment. The accident happened near Padgampora bridge post which traffic in the area remained disturbed for some.

Massive Stone Pelting During CASO in Pulwama Area

July 15 The Government forces have launched a Cordon and search operation in Arihal Dangerpora Area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Sunday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. Massive clashes erupted in the locality as soon Government Forces laid a siege around the area when scores of youth shouting pro freedom slogans hit the streets. A Door to door search operation has been launched in the area.

3 Arrested during nocturnal raids- Property Vandalized in South Kashmir

July  14 Three youth were arrested during nocturnal raids in Kakpora area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that government forces arrested three youth from Kakpora residency late night on Friday late night on Friday. The youth were identified as Sameer Ahmad brother of slain Militant Shakir, Sameer Ahmad brother of slain Militant Majid and Uzair Bokal. Police Officials told The Kashmiriyat that the youth have been arrested in connection with stone throwing in the area. Meanwhile Government Forces vandalised property in Soaf area of Kokernag in  South Kashmir's Islamabad (Anantnag) District.
