RDD Employee Shot At In Shopian, Shifted To Srinagar Hospital

Sikander Gulzar Unknown gunmen on Monday evening fired upon a youth, an employee in Rural Development Department, in Nildoora village of South Kashmir's Shopian district. According to Official sources, the gunmen fired upon the youth identified as Sabzar Ahmad Naikoo, son of Abdul Rasheed Naikoo in his native Nildora village, leaving him critically injured. He was immediately shifted to nearby hospital for treatment wherefrom he was shifted to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment owing to “critical injuries”. According senior police official the injured works in Rural Development Department. Meanwhile a  team of Police reached the spot and has started investigation in this regard, the official sources said.

Militants on Friday morning attacked a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) party deployed at South Kashmir's mini secretariat in Shopian district. No casualties or injuries reported so far. In a first, twin remote villages in Sopore area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district got mobile connectivity, officials said here. An official told that villages Rajpura and Rampura in Sopore have been provided mobile connectivity for the first time. He said that a mobile tower by Reliance Jio was installed and it was made functional on Friday to give mobile and internet connectivity to the twin villages, The twin villages are famous for their scenic beauty, however, the area lacked mobile phone connectivity for decades. The area is also known as Khudgoo Munglu in local parlance. As soon as the news of the death of 103-year-old Uma Devi spread, Muslim neighbours from Pargochi village came together to help in performing her last rites.
