In an encounter that raged early morning in the Sugoo, Handhama area of Shopian, Four Militants have been killed so far and one more is believed to be trapped at the site of the encounter, a Security official told The Kashmiriyat. Shopian Minor Dies in Flash Floods in Kashmir

Meer Irfan A minor boy from Shopian was killed due to flash floods triggered by heavy rains in Dangam area of Shopian district in Kashmir on Tuesday. The boy identified as Hazim Malik, aged five, son of Rafiq Ahmad Malik, died late on Tuesday afternoon. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Irfan had left home to play with his friends and after he did not return, they approached the Police to trace him. A Police official in Shopian told  The Kashmiriyat that soon after the incident a search operation was launched by both security forces and locals to retrieve the bodies of the kid. And immediately, after that the body was traced at Ratnipora Halapora village of Shopian district and has been recovered now.

Late on Sunday evening, unknown gunmen abducted a Policeman from a Shopian after they stormed into his house in Thairan area. Sources in the Jammu Kashmir Police told The Kashmiriyat that militants appeared in Thairan village of Shopian district and abducted a police cop identified as Shakeel Ahmed. Irfan Mir The Department of Food  civil  supplies and consumer affairs Shopian on Thursday distributed free ration of 125.10 quintals of Rice among 1251 persons @ 5 Kilogram per soul of 979 migrant labourers placed at various places in the district Shopian for the month of May and June 2020. The deputy commissioner Shopian is playing a proactive role in helping these migrant labourers in various forms who had seen stranded due to lock-down. He has directed the field functionaries to assist these migrant labourers by providing them better essential commodities so that they can’t feel any inconvenience. He said that the district administration is in full swing for providing any kind of assistance to these migrant labourers.
