CASO Launched in Shopian Area

September 07 A CASO has been launched in Urpora locality of Nagbal area in South Kashmir's Shopian District on Friday night. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 44 RR of Indian Army, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. The Search operations were going on when this report was filed.

Another Shopian Youth Joins Militancy

September 07 Despite repeated verbal attempts of the Police officials of Jammu Kashmir Police, Militancy is showing no signs of declination. In fact the Army General of India has been constantly asking the local Kashmiri youth to give up arms and asking people to keep their wards away from militancy. Though Militancy is growing swiftly as more local youth are picking up arms to strengthen the Militant ranks, Figures available to The Kashmiriyat suggest that at least 145 youth have picked up arms this year. One more youth from South Kashmir has picked arms and posed with an AK 47 rifle to tell his family that he has joined Militant ranks. September 07 The Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Nowpora area of Baskuchen in South Kashmir's Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Friday, the forces including 44 RR of Indian Army, and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Nowpora area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Shopian locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. Forces Ransack the house of Ex Army Man During CASO in Pulwama Area

September 09 The Government Forces late night on Thursday vandalized the property at the house of Army man turned Militant, Zahoor Ahmed Thoker in Sirnoo area of South Kashmir's Pulwama. The Forces, as reported by The Kashmiriyat, had launched a cordon and search operation in the locality following inputs about Militant movement in the area. School Building Destroyed in Fire in Budgam

September 06 A government middle school was gutted in a mysterious fire incident in Attina locality of Beerwah area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district in the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that fire erupted at around 1130 pm from the school at Attina and engulfed the whole school building. Locals rushed to the spot initially and then a team of Jammu Kashmir Police fire and emergency rushed to the spot and to douse off the flames. The  school building suffered an extensive damage in the massive fire.

SOG Camp attacked in Shopian Area, Search Operation Launched

September 04 unknown persons fired a few gunshots towards near the camp of Special Operations Group of Jammu Kashmir Police stationed at Imam Sahib area in South Kashmir's Shopian District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiryat that the gunshots created panic in the area and the shoppers immediately downed their shutters. September 02 A brief gunfight broke out between militants and the government forces in Laddi locality of Imam Sahib in south Kashmir's Shopian district early Sunday morning. Officials told The Kashmiriyat that 44 RR, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF had jointly launched a Cordon and search operation during which the holed up Militants opened fire upon forces, triggering a gunfight around 8 am.
