September 06 Following a specific input about Militant movement, the Government Forces jointly launched a cordon and search operation in the Wathoo area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Late afternoon on Thursday, the forces including 44 RR of Indian Army, and Jammu Kashmir police sealed all the entry and exit points to the Wathoo area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that a heavy contingent of forces reached this Shopian locality and are conducting a search operation in the area. September 04 unknown persons fired a few gunshots towards near the camp of Special Operations Group of Jammu Kashmir Police stationed at Imam Sahib area in South Kashmir's Shopian District on Tuesday. Sources told The Kashmiryat that the gunshots created panic in the area and the shoppers immediately downed their shutters. September 02 A brief gunfight broke out between militants and the government forces in Laddi locality of Imam Sahib in south Kashmir's Shopian district early Sunday morning. August 29 Unidentified gunmen on Wednesday shot dead four policemen in Arahma area of south Kashmir's Shopian district. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that suspected militants fired upon a Police party near the Arahama Fruit Mandi  of Shopian injuring four of them.
