Massive CASO Launched in Shopian Area

August 10 A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched in Tukroo area of South Kashmir's Shopian District on Friday noon. Government Forces including RR of Indian Army and launched a joint Anti Militancy operation in the area following specific input about Militant presence in the area. Locals said that a heavy contingent of Forces have reached the area and are conducting a search operation in the area. The search operation was going on when this report was filed.

August 10 Shabir Khan Acting on a Speicifc input about militant movement, the Government Forces On 08 August at about 11:30 hrs  sneaked in to the upper  reaches of Rafiabad forest in North Kashmir. August 06 A Cordon and Search operation has been launched at Srindoo in Shermal area of South Kashmir's Shopian District late night on Monday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 44 RR of Indian, Army and Jammu Kashmir police jointly launched the cordon and search operation in the locality. Nocturnal Raids Continue in South Kashmir amid Clashes till 2 am

August 06 A youth was arrested by Government Forces during a nocturnal raid at Memander area of South Kashmir's Shopian district in the intervening night of Sunday and Monday. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that youth identified as Shakeel Ahmed was arrested initially after which the Forces tried to enter other houses, however youth hit the streets pelting stones on Forces forcing them to flee from the area. They said that the forces later fired tear smoke shells and pellets on the protesting youth, however the clashes continued till 2 am midnight, but forces did not enter any houses later. They left the village around 2:10 am, a Local informed The Kashmiriyat. Police Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Shakeel has been arrested for questioning.

August 05 Youth namely Bilal Ahmad Bhat son of Habib u llah Bhat resident of Keegam area of  shopian district is missing from 31st July evening. As per his family members, Bilal was alone at home on 31st July as all other family members other than him were busy in their orchard. August 04 A Civilian has been killed in Kiloora area of South Kashmir’s Shopian District during the clashes in the area, Police sources told The Media. The Civilian has been identified as Imtiyaz Ahmed, a resident of South Kashmir’s Kundalan area. Massive clashes had erupted in South Kashmir’s Shopian post the encounter that began at around 4:30 am in Shopian. At least 20 civilians have been injured in the clashes as confirmed by Hospital officials to The Kashmiriyat. 5 Militants have been killed in the ongoing Kiloora Encounter which raged late night on Friday. August 04 At least 15 persons have been injured in the massive clashes that erupted in the areas nearby the encounter site at Kiloora in South Kashmir's Shopian District. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that people in droves of hundreds and thousands came out of their homes throwing stones on troops deployed in the area. The troops fired tear smoke shells and pellets go disperse the protesters, both women and men. "They also fired on protesters to disperse them," a local told The Kashmiriyat.
