July  15 An Anti militancy Cordon and Search operation has been launched at Czovan village of Keller area of South Kashmir's Shopian District on Sunday. July 15 The brother of slain Hizb Militant Saddam padder from Heff Shopian has been arrested by Government Forces during a nocturnal raid in Heff area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the Government Forces raided the houses of three slain Militants and assaulted them before taking them into custody. "Shakir Padder (brother of Saddam Padder, Suhail Wani ( Brother of Nasir Wani) and Sayar Ahmed (brother of irfan Sheikh) of Maldera Shopian were taken into custody after their houses were raided during nocturnal raids," Locals said. July 13 Unknown Gunmen barged into the house of a retired Army man at Kanjiular area of south Kashmir's Shopian district late night on Thursday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that masked men entered the house of retired Army man identified as Nazir Ahmad and assaulted him to pulp. The Army man was soon rushed to the Hospital where the Doctors stated his condition to be stable. The Jammu Kashmir Police has lodged an FIR in this regard and an investigation has been taken up.

July 11 Intense Stone throwing clashes erupted in Memander area of South Kashmir's Shopian as hundreds of youth hit the streets. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that youth shouting slogans against civilian killings appeared on the roads and the forces deployed in the area fired tear smoke shells on them. The youth in retaliation threw stones on them and tried to chase them away, however the youth regrouped in large numbers and continued the stone throwing. The clashes were going on when this report was filed.

July 11 A Minor was killed while four others were injured in a mysterious blast in Memander area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a group of young boys was playing in a field in the area when a mysterious object suddenly exploded causing injuries to five. One of the boys succumbed to his injuries and four others are still being treated at the Shopian District Hospital. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that it was an unexploded shell, however Police officials said that they are checking facts.

July 10 The Encounter in Shopian has concluded just now with the killing of the militants hiding in a house in the Kundalan area of South Kashmir's Shopian District. Highly placed officials confirmed the identity of the slain Militants to The Kashmiriyat as Sameer Ahmed Sheikh of Ayend Shopian and said the other militant is likely a foreigner. The Kashmiriyat has been informed that at least 25 civilians were injured during the clashes which erupted after locals hit the areas around Kundalan pelting stones on Government Forces. July 09 The Cousin of a Slain Militant, Bilal Ahmed Mehand who was killed along with Saddam Padder the last month in a Gunfight has been killed by unidentified gunmen in South Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that the dead body of the slain identified as Tariq Ahmed Mehand , a resident of Heff Shopian was found in Rakh Momun in Arwani area of South Kashmir's Kulgam District on Monday afternoon. Locals from Heff told The Kashmiriyat that Tariq was abducted by gunmen late night on Sunday after they barged into the house of Tariq and took him away forcibly. On Monday afternoon his blood riddled body was found in a field in South Kashmir. The Police reached the spot and took the body for investigation and confirmed that the slain had bullet wounds.
