Two more patients who were tested positive for Coronavirus died in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, taking the toll of total deaths related to Covid-19 to 96 Two patients who were tested positive for Coronavirus include 45-year-old male from Bijbehara area of Anantnag and 65-year male from Sugan area of Shopian district. Both died at SMHS hospital Srinagar. Dr Nazir Choudhary Medical Superintendent at SMHS said that a 45-year-old man from Anantnag who was admitted at SMHS on Sunday with bilateral pneumonia died at hospital on Monday afternoon. 57-Year-old Man from Poonch Dies of Covid- Toll 89

Covid 19 on Thursday claimed another life in the form of a 57-year-old-man from Poonch district, who breathed his last at Government Medical College Hospital Jammu. Officials said that the deceased was undergoing treatment at Jammu GMC since past five days. "The man was shifted to GMC Jammu from an administrative quarantine in Samba," they said. He was also having some other body ailments, they said. Medical Superintendent of GMC Jammu, Dr. Dara Singh said that 57-year-old man from Poonch was having diabetes as well as kidney problems. "He was sent to GMC Jammu from Samba and was treated but last night,” the medical superintendent GMC said. With the fresh death, the death toll due to Covid pandemic has reached to 89—(KNO)

With a spike of 14,821 new cases, the coronavirus infection cases in India rose to over 4.25 lakh, while the death toll stands at 13,699. Globally, the number of infected persons has inched close to the 9 million mark. Over 8.9 infections have been reported worldwide, while the virus has killed at least 4.6 lakh people. The World Health Organization on Sunday reported the largest single-day increase in coronavirus cases by its count, at more than 183,000 new cases in the latest 24 hours. The UN health agency said Brazil led the way with 54,771 cases tallied and the U.S. next at 36,617. Over 15,400 came in in India.
