April 05 At least 165 people including 83 forces personnel, 21 civilians, 61 militants among 165 persons killed in Jammu Kashmir in the first three months of the current year. Figures available to The Kashmiriyat reveal that the month of February proved to be the bloodiest month in recent years witnessing highest number of killings. March 21 Rizwan Asad Pandit, the school teacher killed in custody might have died due to ‘multiple injuries’ Indian Express reported on Thursday. Rizwan, who was detained during a nocturnal raid by Police and NIA, as per Locals, was lodged in CARGO, an SOG camp in Srinagar. This was revealed in a poll conducted by Thomson Reuters Foundation titled ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Countries for Women’ which ranks India at number one, with Syria, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia and Somalia also in the top five. February 02 The police have arrested two lawyers accused of making the fake bail bond of High Court for the bail of three vehicle thieves. This case came out in the year 2017. He concerned Officials said that the Registrar Judicial of the State High Court had complained in the written statement of the Police Station Shaheed Gunj in the year 2007 that fake bail documents were prepared for the bail of three persons allegedly involved in car theft. The police started the investigation by registering a case on the complaint. 191 Youth Joined Militant Ranks in 2018, Highest 59 From Pulwama

February 04 At least 191 local youths were recruited by various militant outfits in Jammu Kashmir in the year 2018. The new recruits mostly hailed from the restive south Kashmir region, as per a report carried out by PTI. 126 locals had joined the militant ranks in 2017, the report said. Most of the Militants hailed from South Kashmir districts - Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam and Islamabad (anantnag). An Army official said that Militant outfits Hizbul Mujahideen and the Lashker-e- Taiba have recruited most number of youth. He said out of the total 191 recruits, 139 alone hailed from south Kashmir.
