Kashmir University Announces Summer vacation

UPDATES
August 10 The Kashmir University has on Friday announced Summer vacation for the main campus and Satellite Campuses in the province via a circular on the University official website. As per the circular, the summer vacations would commence from 16 August and end on the 25th of August. The circular further read that the Entrance of P.G will be held as per schedule.

Militant Killings- Protests Erupt in Amar Singh College, GDC Bemina

August 03 The Students of Amar Singh College and Government Degree College Bemina in Srinagar held protests against the killings of 13 militants in Kashmir on saturday. "The Students hit the streets to demand an end to the killing spree in Kashmir," a student told The Kashmiriyat. The student said that protest was also held in defence of Article 35-A. The students in large numbers shouted pro Independence and Pro Islam slogans, the students said. Meanwhile there are reports of sporadic clashes in the Bemina area of Srinagar.

5 Teachers Suspended for being Absent in Ganderbal

July 31 Rayees Shah Five teachers were suspended on Tuesday for absence from their school in Central Kashmir's Ganderbal District. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that during a surprise visit, five teachers identified as Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Mohammed Ashraf Sheikh, Riyaz and Bashir Ahmed were suspended from Government Boys Middle School in Behki Margoona area in Ganderbal. They said that the headmaster of the school Firdous Ahmed Shah was also found absent and hence suspended. The five teachers have been placed under suspension immediately till further orders, Sources told The kashmiriyat.

Fake Doctor Scandal- Health Department Launches Investigation

July 29 Sajad Hameed The Jammu Kashmir Health department has launched an investigation into allegations that a fake doctor has been duping gullible since a year in North Kashmirs Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora districts claiming he was an orthopaedic expert. One of the clinics of the doctor under scanner of department of health and police has been sealed at Hyderbagh Pattan. The accused Tariq Ahmad Teli, 32, is a resident of Chokar Pattan, and was “practising” as orthopaedic doctor. On his prescription he has been claiming to have all the degrees including MBBS from MTR university Vijaywada, Andhra Pradesh, and MS from Rajiv Medical College. Teachers of GDC Kulgam Teaching Without Salary for the past Four Months

July 28 For the fourth month in a row, teachers working at Government Degree College in Kulgam District have not received salary. Demanding payment, they held a protest demonstration pn Saturday and refused to teach students warning the authorities in case of further delay. The teachers while speaking to The Kashmiriyat alleged that due to non-payment of salaries their lives have become miserable. Despite them repeatedly knocking the doors of officials, nothing has been done in the regard, they alleged. “As days are passing, it’s getting more difficult for us to manage without salaries. Summer Vacations to Begin from July 19

July 10 The School Education Department Jammu Kashmir has issued a circular ordering the closure of Schools upto Higher Secondary level from the 19th of June. In the circular issued on Tuesday, the Department has announced the summer vacations from Jammu as well as Kashmir valley up to 28th of July. The Board has asked all the Schools to comply with the orders issued today.

Separate Exams for Tral Students
