Locals from the Kumdalan area of Shopian District in Kashmir on Sunday alleged that thieves have stolen four cows from the area during two nights.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, a resident of Tachloo, Chakoora in Kumdalan, Ghulam Ahmed said that from a couple of days, locals are having sleepless nightas as cows are being stolen from inside their shelters in the area.
Demanding strict action against the culprits, the residents said that they approached the concerned authorities in this regard, however their pleas have fallen on deaf ears, as no step has been taken to redress the issue.
Alleging that the cattle theft is not a fresh affair here in Kumdalan, the locals said that cattle smugglers have been on prowl since a long time.
The Locals appealed the authorities to intervene into the issue and ensure that there is no more theft in the area and the culprits are brought to the book sooner, rather than later.
