CEO post lying vacant in Muncipal Council Sopore, locals suffer

The post of Executive Officer in Muncipal Council, Sopore has been lying vacant since more than an year, now, causing hardships to the locals, who have been confronting immense problems in their lives.

Local residents of the area told The Kashmiriyat that public work has been hit due to the absence of an Executive Officer. Although, the authorities have deputed the ADC to take additional charges as Executive Officer of Muncipal Council, Sopore “but the work is not done properly,” they added.

“It is very unfortunate that almost one year have passed and the government is yet to appoint a new officer. We are suffering immensely,” said Abrar Ahmad, a local.

Meanwhile, senior citizens of the town appealed to Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and District Administration to fill the vacant post immediately, so the public does not suffer more.

Meanwhile, The Kashmiriyat contacted the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Parvaiz Sajad, who said, “I also want that a CEO be appointed for Sopore town, because I am not able to fulfill the additional charges assigned to me, due to which locals face a lot of difficulties.”

“Sopore is a big town and there is a lot of work that comes up every now and then, which is why we appeal the LG Manoj Sinha to fulfill the vacancy of Executive Officer,” he added.
