The villagers of Sogam in Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district here have staged a protest against the Public Health Engineering (PHE) department for failing to supply drinking water to them.
Witnesses told that the protesting villagers claimed the department has failed to provide drinking water supply to the villagers from last one year.
“We approached the authorities many times in this regard but they always dejected us,” the residents said while appealing to the higher ups to look into the matter and ensure that their demands are fulfilled at an earliest.
Concerned AEE when contacted, said that the villagers will get water supply soon, saying that the work on laying a new pipeline will be started soon under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which will help in supplying water to the area—(KNO)
