The firing between militants and government forces at during the charar-e-Sharif encounter in central Kashmir’s Budgam district has stopped.
The Government Forces including Indian army’s 53 RR, SOG and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation following credible input about the presence of two to three militants hiding in the hideout.
During the CASO, the forces were fired upon, which led to an encounter, the firing continued for many hours, however no dead bodies have been found as of yet, an official said.
He said that the government forces have been able to bust a hideout of the militants in the mountainous area in Hapatnad area of Charar e Sharif.”
Meanwhile a search operation is still going in the area which is under a thick blanket of snow.
