Chief Horticulture Officer directed to disengage private vehicle for official use

The Directorate of Horticulture Jammu and Kashmir has directed the Chief Horticulture Officer Ganderbal to disengage the private vehicle it has hired for office use. The department has expressed displeasure with the way Chief Horticulture Officer Ganderbal continued to use a private vehicle despite being provided a vehicle by the department.

Assistant Director Headquarters Vinay Dutta as per the news agency Kashmir News Trust while asking the Chief Horticulture Officer to disengage the hired private vehicle as soon as possible has stated that hiring a private vehicle despite the vehicle provided by the department, tantamount to indiscipline and misuse of government money.

The CHO has further been informed that that no payment shall be drawn on the account and he shall be personally responsible for payment.

Besides fuel charges, the CHO used to withdraw Rs 1500 per day for using the private vehicle. The Treasury Officer Ganderbal has also been asked to stop the payment in favor of the Chief Horticulture Officer. [KNT]
