Massive between youth and government forces erupted in Sakedafar area of Srinagar when forces fired tear gas canisters on mourners carrying the body of the civilian killed in forces firing early Thursday, Locals told The Kashmiriyat.
Mohammad Saleem Malik a resident of Noorbagh area in Srinagar was killed after forces launched a search operation in the area.
Locals said that Saleem’s body was being carried in the form of a procession towards Srinagar’s Eid Gah and when the mourners reached Sakedafar area, the forces fired tear smoke shells at them.
They said that angry protesters pelted stones on forces and the clashes were going on when reports last came in.
Earlier authorities imposed curfew like restrictions in old Srinagar and snapped internet services in the Srinagar, Budgam and in the South Kashmir.
