Clashes erupted on Saturday between students and government forces in north Kashmir’s Sopore town area of Baramulla district.
Local sources said that the clashes erupted at main chowk Sopore after students of High School Jamia Qadeem Sopore held a peaceful protest rally inside the school premises.
However, after some time the protesting students took the march outside the school premises and marched through different areas of the town.
The protesting students while shouting anti-government and pro-freedom slogans were holding banners and placards seeking justice forward Asifa and penalty to culprits.
When the rally reached at main chowk some youths among the protesters started pelting stoned on CRPF camp situated at SBI main chowk, which was retaliated by lobbing some tear smoke shells to disperse them triggering clashes, local sources said.
