As soon as the news of an encounter going on in Hajin of Pulwama spread in the nearby areas, hundreds of women and men came out of their houses and started marching towards the encounter site.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that early on Saturday morning in sub zero temperatures, people in large numbers came out of their households shouting Pro independence and Anti India slogans.
The forces deployed in the area fired tear smoke shells upon the protesters to disperse them, however the clashes were going on when this report was filed.
