Intense clashes between protesters and government forces erupted near gunfight site in Damodar area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district where a gunfight between militants and forces is underway.
Gunfight is on as two to three Militants are believed to be trapped in the area, official sources told The Kashmiriyat.
Hundreds of protesters assembled and pelted stones on forces who retaliated with tear smoke shelling and pellet firing at near the encounter site.
Announcements are being made on loudspeakers in the mosques asking others to come out and help the trapped Militants escape, a local told The Kashmiriyat.
Earlier a youth identified as Jahangeer was injured after being hit with a bullet.
