Jammu Kashmir National Conference on Saturday said that he will raise his voice to seek the release of undertrial detainees across the jails in India.
Speaking to a gathering in Pulwama, a recently elected Member of Parliament from Srinagar Lok Sabha seat, Aga Ruhullah Mehdi asked the workers of the National Conference from Pulwama to provide a list of individuals who have been imprisoned.
He said that he will raise the issue of these prisoners and vowed to fight for their release.
“Be it in Parliament or the Ministry, I will raise the issue of arrested youth everywhere because this is one of the most disturbing concerns for the people of Kashmir. I urge the National Conference leaders and activists to compile a list of the youth who are detained in various jails both within Kashmir and outside. I will also bring the issue to the attention of the local administration,” said Aga Ruhullah Mehdi.
Aga Ruhullah Mehdi was recently declared the winner in Srinagar Lok Sabha seat by nearly 2 lakh votes.
