
A condolence meeting was held by Director Health Services Kashmir at its headquarters in Bemina, Srinagar on the demise of Dr. Mohd Ashraf Mir.
Dr. Ashraf Mir was a frontline warrior, working as Senior Medical Officer at the District Hospital Pulwama. He had contracted the disease while treating COVID-19 positive patients.
The director, Dr. Samir Mattoo presided the meeting and was attended by Deputy Director Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, State immunization officer Dr. Qazi Haroon, General secretary Doctors Association, Dr. Owais H Dar and other members of Doctors association.
The director said that Dr. Ashraf’s untimely death is a loss to our society. Further, Condolences messages were read and all the people present prayed for the departed Soul.
It was also decided that Ex-Gratia relief of 50 lacs will be given to the bereaved family.
In the meet, it was also decided to send a proposal to the Government to name an award at District Hospital Pulwama after Dr. Mohd Ashraf Mir.
At the end of the meet, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo recited Quranic verses and Surah Fateh for the departed soul.
