
The pre-poll alliance between the Congress and the National Conference for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections is taking its final shape.
National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah has indicated that the talks are progressing well, with the formal agreement expected to be signed by this evening.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge are currently in Jammu and Kashmir for a two-day visit, during which they have been holding crucial discussions with Dr. Abdullah to cement the alliance.
The coalition is set to contest all 90 seats in the region, aiming to present a united front in the elections.
Their visit is seen as a decisive step towards ensuring a coordinated campaign strategy.
The assembly elections in J&K are scheduled to begin on September 18.
