Street lights are installed for the benefit of the general public but believe it or not a man removed the bulbs from street lights for personal use.
Sonamarg Development Authority (SDA) had installed street lights near Gagangeer Park in Sonamarg for the benefit of tourists and visitors who pass through the road during night hours.
Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a contractor without seeking permission from the Authority removed the bulbs from the street lights and installed those near his camping site on the banks of nallah Sindh.
Locals have sought action against the man in question and an answer from SDA on whose behest the contractor removed the bulbs from the street lights along the road near Gagangeer Park.
The matter was brought to the notice of the Sonamarg Development Authority, however, no action was initiated in this regard. [KNT]
