Covid 19- 110 Non-Local Labourers Test Positive

Out of the more than 10,000 Non-Kashmiri labourers who arrived in Kashmir valley from July 14 to 18, at least 113 non-local labourers have been tested positive for COVID-19.

Earlier The Kashmiriyat reported that at least 10,000 samples of non-local labourers were collected as of 18 July.

An administrative official upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat said that most out of these 110 persons who tested positive were working on brick kilns in Budgam district right after they reached Kashmir.

“The positive cases have been quarantined,” he said.

The CMO of Budgam upon being contacted by The Kashmiriyat expressed concern over the situation and said at least 70 non local labourers were tested positive for Coronavirus.

The Kashmiriyat reported earlier that at least 10,000 labourers who were non-locals came to the valley in a gap of five days.

So far 259 people have died in Jammu Kashmir due to covid 19, On Monday 51 CRPF Men, 16 ACB Men Among 751 were tested Positive in Jammu Kashmir taking  the number of positive cases upto 14650.
