Jammu Kashmir reported a major spike as 2456 persons tested positive for covid-19 in the last 24 hours, while five deaths have been reported across the region, officials said on Friday.
934 out of these cases fresh cases were reported from the Jammu division and 1552 from Kashmir, an official told The Kashmiriyat.
260 Covid special beds have been occupied as of yet, the official said.

He said that the total active cases in Jammu Kashmir stand at 10,003- 4802 in Jammu and 5201 in the Kashmir division.
380 patients recovered in Jammu Kashmir on Thursday- 211 from Jammu Division and 169 from Kashmir Division.
Giving district-wise details of the fresh cases, the officials said that Srinagar reported the highest 464 cases, Baramulla 457, Budgam 139, Pulwama 22, Kupwara 104, Anantnag 101, Bandipora 95, Ganderbal 12, Kulgam 120, Shopian 8.
In Jammu division, Jammu district reported the highest with 588 cases.
