Covid 19- 489 People Including 69 CRPF Troopers Test positive- Death Toll 337- Daily Report

The Covid 19 infection is showing a massive upsurge in Jammu Kashmir, despite the authorities taking full-fledged measures to stop its furthering. On Tuesday, nine deaths have been reported from Jammu Kashmir, eight in the valley and one in Jammu region.

Hospital officials told The Kashmiriyat that nine more people, who had been tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic died of the virus, mounting the death toll to 337.

489 persons including 69 troopers have been tested positive on Tuesday. These include Srinagar reported 138 cases, Baramulla 30, Kulgam 7, Shopian 21, Anantnag 4, Kupwara 28, Pulwama 39, Budgam 32, Bandipora 23, Ganderbal 33, Jammu 43, Kathua 19, Rajouri 23, Udhampur 8, Ramban 23, Samba 6 and Doda 2.

Nine more persons died of Covid on Tuesday, the deceased include a 60-year-old woman from Nowhatta Srinagar, a 62-year-old man from Batamaloo Srinagar, a 59-year-old man from DH pora Kulgam, a 75-year-old man from Noorbagh Srinagar, a 60-year-old man from Nagbal khag Beerwah Budgam, a 75-year-old man from Sumbal Bandipora, a 40-year-old doctor from Bata Mohalla Sumbal, a 25-year-old youth from Suligam Ramban and an elderly lady patient from Rainawari.

314 from Kashmir division and 23 from Jammu division have died so far due to the Covid-19, an official posted at SKIMS told The Kashmiriyat.

The Administration led by Lieutenant Governor has appealed the general public to follow the norms to fight the novel pandemic, Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu also asked people to maintain physical distancing and wear masks.

Meanwhile, the cases continue to see a spike and the current tally is at 18, 879 positive cases.

The number of positive cases in India has crossed 14.8  Lakhs, while the death toll has reached 33,425.

Nearly 49,931 people have been tested positive for the infection in the last 24 hours in India. Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Gujarat have reported the highest number of cases.

As per John Hopkins, Globally more than 1,67,33,760 cases have been reported while as the death toll has reached 6,59,015.
