Covid 19- Teacher Starts ‘Community School’ in Kokernag

Amid  the COVID-19 lockdown and closure of education institutions in the valley, higher authorities in zone Vailoo (Anantnag)  have ordered teachers to open community classes for students while taking care of all precautionary measures and advisories related to prevention of covid_19 infection.

Students of many schools in zone vailoo while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said, “community classes are better than online classes and are very beneficial for us. Before community classes we were getting online classes  through zoom application but due to low internet speed we were not getting education in good way as we want students.”

A teacher from higher secondary school Gadole Kokernag said, “These students come from poor families so they can’t afford smartphones. Besides we started online education before community classes but the participation of students in online classes was low. He further added that we are taking care of all precautionary measures and advisories related to prevention of covid 19 infection”.

Syed Abid Hussain said, “we are very thankful to higher authorities of education department for this initiative.”

It is necessary to mention here that an order copy was issued by ZEO vailoo regarding community schooling which reads as “All the teachers of the institutions of (HS/MS/PS) are hereby directed to Initiate Community Schooling with immediate effect. The Timing of the schooling will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. The Head of the institution is responsible for identification of the spot feasible for schooling in collaboration with community. All the Teaching staff and the Students will strictly follow the SOPs; wearing of masks, Social distancing is obligatory. The hand washing facilities and sanitizers must be kept in place”.

Moreover RPs are directed to monitor the community centers of their respective clusters and submit the report on daily basis to this office without any fail.

The institution who fails to establish the community centers will be dealt seriously under rules and the salary of the erring H0l’s/Teachers will be kept withheld.
