An 80-year-old woman died of covid 19 on Saturday noon at the Sub District hospital in the Sopore division of Baramulla district in North Kashmir.
A hospital official said that the lady was the first person to die of covid 19 at the SDH Sopore in the fresh wave of the Covid 19 that has ripped the Kashmir valley and is showing a massive surge for the last few weeks.
He said that the woman, a resident of the Court road area in Sopore who was admitted to the hospital on 27 April 2021 succumbed to covid 19 early on Saturday.
The Kashmir valley is under a complete lockdown for the second consecutive day on Saturday to “prevent the spread of the pandemic in the region.”
Meanwhile, 35 patients have died across Jammu Kashmir since last night, thus taking a total number of Coronavirus deaths to 2,318.
