A graffiti mocking the Bharatiya Janata Party and Modi has appeared in West Bengal as the party struggles to find candidates for all 42 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
The graffiti shows Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding a leash tied to a cow, below a message read: “Let’s make you a BJP candidate for Lok Sabha elections”.
The message has been shared widely on WhatsApp and Facebook groupd in the wake of Lok Sabha elections 2019.
As per India Today, So far, the BJP has fielded 29 candidates in West Bengal but seems to be struggling to find candidates for the remaining 13 constituencies and out of the 29 candidates, at least 25 are new faces.
Reports indicate that several of the party members in Bengal are not happy with the selection process and it has even led to the exit of BJP state vice-president Raj Kamal Pathak.
While the strategy may help BJP better its performance in the upcoming elections, it seems the new strategy is also causing internal turbulence in the party’s Bengal camp.
