Crackdown Against Religious Clerics, Activists Continues in the Kashmir Valley, Mobile Internet Speed Reduced

The arrests of religious personalities have continued for the second consecutive day throughout the Kashmir valley.

In a fresh round of crackdown, many prominent clerics from the Kashmir valley including Mushtaq Veeray, Mohammed Maqbool Akhrani, Aaqib, Tehsil president of religious organization Sout ul Awaliya have been reportedly arrested.

Hurriyat activists including Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Ghulam Nabi Sumji have also been arrested by the Government Forces.

Earlier on Saturday, many prominent personalities including the chief of Jammu Kashmir Jamat e Islami was picked by Forces.

In Shopian, the police during night raids arrested fifteen persons, including Jama’at activists.

Bashir Ahmad Rather, brother of Peoples League Member Nisar Ahmad Rather was arrested during late night from his residence at Dadsara Tral in South Kashmir.

Police, Sources, however reveal that prominent personalities are being summoned for questioning and many arrested people have been released on Saturday.

Earlier, many clerics from South Kashmir were summoned by Government Forces, some even barred from leading Friday prayers at important places in South Kashmir.
