Crops of few of farmers were damaged under mysterious circumstances in the Gasipora area of Anantnag district in South Kashmir on Saturday evening, which has created a lot of panic among the locals.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Ghulam Rasool (52), a local resident whose crops were damaged said that since Saturday crops of several residents have been damaged by wild boars.
“Since yesterday evening, several boars have been spotted running through the fields in our area by the locals. I’ve witnessed this for the first time since I was born,” Ghulam Rasool said.
He said that the boars have been running wildly in the fields throughout Gasipora village. Locals say that they have caused huge damage to the rice, vegetables, and other crops grown in the area.
“We do not know where the wild boars came from but several locals of area have spotted the animals running in groups and creating havoc in the entire area,” they said.
They appealed the wild life department to catch the boars so that they cause no further damage to the crops.
