CRPF Camp Catches Fire in Srinagar, Several Structures Damaged

In a major fire incident inside a CRPF camp in Srinagar, several structures were damaged it Zainakote area of Srinagar last night.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that fire broke out at the CRPF camp of 44 Battalion on the intervening night of 8 and 9 January damaging several structures located inside the camp.
 

Due the immediate action of the fire fighting tenders, the fire was brought under control before it could cause further damage.

“The fire, which engulfed the 02 semi-permanent structures, was doused only after around two hours. A sizeable quantity of Govt as well as regimental stores and structures were damaged,” a CRPF official said.

The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short circuit.
