DAK Meets LG Manoj Sinha, Stresses for Redressal of Long Pending Demands

The Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) led by its president Dr. Md Yousuf Tak met Hon’ble LG of the union territory of JK, Shri Manoj Sinha at his residence today and stressed upon the address of the long pending genuine issues and demands of the doctor fraternity of the UT. The other executive members who participated in the meeting were Dr. Owais Dar, General Secretary DAK, Dr. Mir Mohd Ashraf, senior Vice president DAK, Dr. Arshid Trag, vice president DAK and spokesperson Dr. Imtiyaz Maqbool Banday.

The Hon’ble LG gave a patient and tolerant hearing to all demands and assured the association of a bonafide redressal of their grievances within a limited time frame.

While narrating the demands DAK President Dr. M.Y.Tak also delineated the crucial role of doctors and other healthcare workers during the current crisis and highlighted their dedication towards their duties in these trying times. The Hon’ble LG, while appreciating the efforts of doctors, promised to resolve the issues.

DAK General Secretary while elaborating on the demands, pressed for covid incentives for all, two and half day salary, monthly risk allowances, caderisation of medical officers/Dental surgeons, consultants apart from Restoration of Administrative Seniority, and requested the Hon’ble LG to have a sympathetic look on these burning issues and give proper consideration to the overdue demands of the fraternity. He further appealed to the Chair to restore the previous SRO by virtue of which a Medical officer is allowed to proceed on higher education after completion of 2 years of service and not five years, as was in vogue before 2020.

DAK spokesperson while narrating the ordeal of unemployed dental surgeons appealed to the highest chair of UT to intervene in this humanitarian issue and requested for the creation of new dental surgeon posts, absorption of Unemployed Dental surgeons in NHM at block levels, and in Covid Hospitals.

Senior vice president Dr. Ashraf and vice president Dr. Arshid while expressing their hopefulness also demanded a fast-track address of the grievances.
