Candidates from Valley in turmoil as the internet ban and immediate curfews and lockdowns make it difficult for them to follow up on form submissions and dates. Due to unfavorable conditions in Jammu Kashmir, government decided to put a halt on all recruitment and admission orders.
Candidates can not enroll due to low internet speed and connections being banned in Jammub Kashmir. The uncertainty of events, constant curfews and shut downs in Valley make it difficult for them to even submit the hard copies of their forms.
Taking the matter into consideration, the government pushed forward the dates of enrollment. For all all PSC (Public Service Comission) and SSB (Service Select Board), more than 1000 Assames Candidates could not apply as well. Divisional Commissioner, Bashir Ahmed Khan said, “Due to uncertainty-government decided to post pone the submission dates and now the submission for SPO category will be 1st of September and for all Tourism categories were shifted from 20th August to 3rd of September.”
He also said, “The candidates can download the form from site and all vacancies for SOP’s in tourism, traffic and environment was extended to 3rd September. They can also submit to District Employment Exchange. Dates for KAS exams is delayed until further notice and until the internet ban is lifted. SSRB division is also shifted until further notice. We are revising policies and looking for precautions on a day – to – day basis until internet is restored in Jammu Kashmir.”
District Vice President of Department of Floricultre (landscapers and garden workers) of Jammu Kashmir, Uzair Bhat spoke to The Kashmiriyat about their long pending plea and said, “We have been screeching for our cause since 2016 after the unrest. The unrest disturbed the peace and work structure of valley. Back then, Prime Minister – Modi Jee in his speeches asked the youth of Kashmir to choose from ‘tourism’ or ‘terrorism’. The recruitment for the same started on a fast track base in many departments of Jammu Kashmir like – J&K Bank, Animal Husbandry, Floriculture, 10+2 Lecturers, SOP’s and Veterinary doctors.”
He further added, “Our issues are still pending. The candidates from the Floriculture Department were asked to fill forms and wait for the result, after the qualification they were short listed for Viva. If the candidate cleared the exams and viva, they were asked by the department to take additional skill development training. Many centers were set up in IHM Srinagar, Anantnag, Baramulla and in Jammu too.”
Even after the candidates sufficed all formalities and requirements, they were not recruited. He said,”Our issues are still pending and no one is coming forward to help us. And that is why I am appealing to the LG – Manoj Sinha and administrative departments from Jammu Kashmir to come forward with a strong plan to help the youth. The youth of Jammu Kashmir should not be out on the streets screeching for their rights. Their plea should not go unheard and ignored by the government. Unemployment in youth should not exist and the government must help them. That is why, I openly plead the government.”
